Blue Dragons Belgrade

Blue Dragons Club was formed in July 2003 in Belgrade by a few sport enthusiasts and the team one of the seven which formed Serbian Association of American Football (SAAF).

First game team played early November of 2003 and first victory came in December of the same year. At that time, for the love of the game, almost as all teams in Serbia played football “rugby-like”, without necessary pads and helmets, and did so until the season of 2007. A year before, Blue Dragons associated the only University American football team in Serbia „Električar“, solving their financial and technical problems. In that new wave of enthusiasm all the players who got the opportunity to play for Blue Dragons in season 2007, made the team number one in respective division, reaching teams first semifinals in Serbian National League.

In years that followed Blue Dragons played several international league competitions (EFAF Cup 2009, EUROBOWL 2010, CEI Interleague 2011, 2012 and 2014, Alpe Adria League 2016, CEFL League 2013 and CEFL Cup 2017), all while competing in Serbian National League, where team managed to hit the playoffs 9 times and play 1 Championship game.

Currently Blue Dragons are playing Serbian National League (SAAF SPORTKLUB 1st division), where in the last season team went to the semifinals and additionally gave 8 national team players on the Team Serbia 65 man roster, as well as one position coach.

In the upcoming season team enters with young coaching staff with Željko Novak as Head Coach and Offensive Coach, and Dušan Ćurčić as Defensive Coach and Defensive Back coach. All members of Blue Dragons coaching staff played for the team in over 10 season and some of them even longer.

Blue Dragons Belgrade will play Balkan Football League with over 50 domestic players on their roster in 2020.
