Giurgiu Gladiators is an American Football team founded in February 2017, which became an official club in January 2019. Since June 2021, the team became official part of the municipality owned sport club “SCM Dunărea Giurgiu”.

For the first years, the team was focused on flag football and Arena Competitions, or co-operations under the banners of other Romanian Football teams.

By 2019, Giurgiu Gladiators completely changed the Management and philosophy, trying to be a valid independent alternative of this sport in the South Eastern part of Romania.

The mission of the Club is to support the training of healthy people through sports, encouraging among the participants values ​​such as Responsibility, Tolerance, Solidarity, Competitiveness and Honesty. To represent an alternative for those children and young people who want to combine study with an excellent sports training, actively influencing society and making a connection with the colors of Giurgiu Gladiators.

For the 2022 season, Gladiators’ plan is to crystalize – under the lead of Head Coach Rodolfo “Negro” Ruiz – a team that will participate in Balkan Football League and CNFA National Football Championship.
